No.7 also known as Bilberry Cottage
No.9 also known as Pickwick Cottage
These two appear to have previously been a single house, as can be
seen in early photos of 1909 and 1916, but by the late 1920s it had
been divided into two with a new door squeezed in on the extreme
left of the building. The late 1920s photo also shows that the
render had been stripped off and cement surrounds applied to the
openings, presumably to tidy up the alterations.
1909 photo shows it as a single dwelling
1916 photo, somewhat blurry!
Late 1920s photo shows it was divided sometime in the previous
10-15 years, not sure if cows drinking from the brook was common then.
Note that next door at no11, the thatch had been replaced with tiles
in the same time-frame.
